Pitch Report Condition / Climate Report:-

Match details:
Delhi Daredevils vs Mumbai Indians
20th May 2018
Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi
Venue:
The Kotla has been excellent for batting this season though a bit on the slower side. The stroke makers will feast on the bowling and pacers will have some assistance in the beginning. But the wicket will slow down making batting difficult in the second innings. Expect scores around 170.
Preview:
Delhi Daredevils play host to Mumbai Indians, who need to win this match in order to make the playoffs. Delhi have been performing well but the results haven’t been in their favour. They have been playing well since they were knocked out of the tournament and youngsters like Pant and Iyer have been playing without inhibitions. This game will be an excellent audition for this young team for the next season and they could dash Mumbai’s playoff hopes.
Delhi defeated Chennai by 34 runs on the back of excellent bowling and an all-round performance by Harshal Patel. Harshal and Boult bowled well at the death and kept Dhoni quiet while Lamichhane and Mishra were excellent in the middle overs. Earlier, Pant batted well but none of the batsmen could convert their start to a big score.
Mumbai, meanwhile, were buoyed by the return to form of Pollard who was brought in for Duminy. The West Indian responded with a 22-ball fifty after a top-order collapse to stabilise the innings. Rohit Sharma continued to disappoint and neither Lewis nor Yadav could not convert their starts. Bumrah bowled excellently at the death and took 3 wickets, derailing Punjab who could not cross the finish line.
The script is simple for MI, they need to win and try to improve their NRR as much as possible since that is definitely going to come to play. The advantage they have is that they will know what they need to do to qualify before the match starts.

Last Match’s Playing XI and probable changes
Delhi Daredevils
Prithvi Shaw, Glenn Maxwell, Shreyas Iyer (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Vijay Shankar, Abhishek Sharma, Harshal Patel, Amit Mishra, Avesh Khan, Sandeep Lamichhane, Trent Boult
Probable changes – Manjot Kalra in for Glenn Maxwell. The Australian was brought in for Roy for the previous match and was unimpressive. Kalra could be given a chance for Delhi’s last match of the tournament.
Mumbai Indians
Suryakumar Yadav, Evin Lewis, Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Ben Cutting, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mayank Markande, Jasprit Bumrah
Probable changes – None. There’s a lot at stake for Mumbai for this match and they are unlikely to change the winning combination.
Top point scorers:
Delhi Daredevils
Rishabh Pant (457 points) – The wicketkeeper-batsman could not regain the Orange cap despite being the highest scorer for Delhi against CSK. He has scored an aggregate of 620 runs and would want to end on a high and finish as the leader for the Orange Cap.
Shreyas Iyer (304 points) – The Delhi skipper has been out of form lately. He had a good stint with the bat in the few matches after he was announced as the captain but he has tailed off in the last few matches. He has scored a total of 405 runs at an average of 40.50 and he’s striking the ball at 135.
Mumbai Indians
Suryakumar Yadav (377 points) – The opener has scored an aggregate of 500 runs at a strike rate of 132. In the last few matches, he has been batting slower than usual and has been unable to convert his starts. He is still Mumbai’s leading run-scorer in the tournament.
Hardik Pandya (375.5 points) – The all-rounder had an off day in the previous game. He has picked up 18 wickets in the season but is a long way away from the purple cap holder Andrew Tye. His impact, however, is crucial to Mumbai’s fortunes and he’ll have to perform well if the Mumbai Indians harbour any hopes of qualifying for the playoffs.
Doubtful Pick:
Jason Roy (DD) @ 9 credits
The Englishman was replaced by Maxwell and seems to have fallen out of favour. With this match being the last game for DD this season, they would most likely replace Maxwell with some Indian talent rather than have Roy back in.
He was a part of over 20% of the teams for the previous match.
Value Pick:
Mitchell McClenaghan (MI) @ 8.5 credits
McClenaghan has been expensive but has always been amongst the wickets for Mumbai. He has picked up 14 wickets in 11 innings with an economy rate of 8.30 runs per over. Expect him to step up for this big game.
He featured in over half the teams for Mumbai’s win over Punjab.

Suggested team balance:
The expensive Mumbai stars can be balanced well with the abundant Indian talent of Delhi. Pant, Boult, Yadav and Bumrah are must picks while Harshal Patel and McClenaghan could be great picks as well.
